Dear Parents,
I am very excited to have the opportunity of teaching your student this year!  I am also eager for any and all suggestions.  Please do not hesitate to let me know how I can best help your child. If you can’t catch me in person, my email address is jskjlhamblin@gmail.com and my phone number is 662-295-1380. Thank you so much for allowing me the privilege of instructing your child!
Dear Student,
This is a great Latin course. By the time we are finished, you should be able to say with confidence, “Veni, Vidi, Vici!” Because this curriculum is fast-paced and set up to help you memorize through review, you will need to work on Latin EVERYDAY! Don’t wait until Thursday to cram it in! Each Friday I will do a homework check, quiz you over the prior week’s Lesson, and teach the next week’s Lesson. The quizzes cover vocabulary, grammar, conjugations, and declensions. We will skip Review Lessons 6, 13, 28, and 34. You will be graded on homework completion and quizzes/tests. Your homework grade will be averaged and will count as 50% of your grade. Your tests/quizzes average will make up the other 50%. If you have an “A” average prior to a Unit Test, you may be exempted from the test.
Course Materials: Students, please bring the following items every Friday:
First Form Latin Student Textbook 1. First Form Latin Textbook and Workbook
First Form Latin Student Workbook 2. Any work that is due
First Form Latin CD & Flashcards 3. A pen or pencil
THE SYLLABUS BELOW LISTS THE WORK THAT YOU ARE EXPECTED TO HAVE COMPLETED
PRIOR TO COMING TO CLASS ON FRIDAY. PLEASE BRING YOUR WORKBOOK EVERY FRIDAY.

Dear Parents,

If you can’t catch me in person, my email address is jskjlhamblin@gmail.com and my phone number is 662-295-1380. Thank you so much for allowing me the privilege of instructing your child!
Dear Student,
I am looking forward to getting to know each of you through this class!  Being able to write clearly and logically will be a tremendous asset to you for the rest of your life. This year we will vary our pace depending on the Lesson, but there will always be something due to me by the next Friday. (Please see my late work policy below!) We will skip some Lessons due to the brevity of our semesters.  Make sure you follow the syllabus carefully. When you include a FOD or FOS, you need to label it within the body of your paper. You must either clearly handwrite your paper double-spaced on notebook paper or type it in 12-point font double-spaced.
Late Work Policy: I will accept late work for up to 7 days after the due date. It will be assessed a 10% late penalty.
Any work turned in after 7 days will not be graded unless your parent has made prior arrangements with me.
Computer or printer issues will not be considered valid excuses. If you can’t type it, please write it out legibly.
