7th and 8th Grammar Syllabus
2010-2011
Directions for homework: Each exercise must be completed on a separate sheet of notebook paper. (Write the answers only, not the whole sentence.) Check your work each day using the answer key. This should be removed from the back of the book along with the tests and used with parental supervision only. Either have a section in your binder or a spiral notebook devoted solely to grammar. Do not save all your work for one day. According to the author of the book “Spaced repetition” is the key to learning this material. There will be a quiz in class almost every week covering that week’s material. Don’t worry if it takes you a long time at the beginning to complete the exercises; you will see a lot of improvement as you move through the material. The first week is mainly review to make sure you know the difference between a fragment and a sentence. If you find that you are having trouble here, you might need some extra practice.

3rd – 6th Bible Class Syllabus
2010-2011
Homework directions: Each week the student should read the assigned chapters (The Children’s Story Bible) and be prepared for a quiz over the material on Friday. Approximately every six weeks there will be a recitation day at school for the memory verses. (A copy of these verses is included-NKJV) Students should practice these verses each day. Every Friday we will work through the Sanctifinder sheets in class. If students practice these at home, they will progress through the various levels much faster. I have included a copy of each level with the syllabus. Copies will need to be made of these for home practice. All students who are new to the class must memorize the books of the Bible. This is easily achieved if they memorize three each week. We will be using the Bible Drill to locate the books each week in class.
