6th Grade Grammar and Composition

5/9/16

The research report final draft is due Friday. Typed or handwritten neatly in pencil. The curriculum says ink, but I told students that they are permitted to use pencil.

Items to turn in:
1. Title page
2. Final report
3. Bibliography page
4. Final outline
6. Rough draft
7. Note cards in a ziploc bag

This is slightly different from what is listed in Reference 98. Students do NOT need to turn in illustrations, the rough draft of their outline, or their bibliography cards.

The final draft of this paper, including the title page and bibliography page, is due on our final day of school, May 13th.

Shurley English: Chapter 28 is due

We did not have time to look up Vocabulary Words #1 in class, so please define them at home. This is the final week of vocabulary.

This is the final grammar test in the Shurley workbook. We will not have a final exam at the end of the semester. I am excusing students from the jingles review on this week’s test.

Composition: We started discussing Chapter 29 in class. This chapter begins the research report writing process.

Please bring the following to class Friday:

1. Topic and Main Point Outline for the research report
2. One or two books used for research
3. A bibliography card for each book

Use the guidelines in the TE for Chapter 29: Steps 1-4 to complete the outline and bibliography cards correctly. We will discuss note taking and note card format in class this coming Friday.
